I have a 97 honda prelude AT w/ 103,000.

When the transmission shifts gears all the power would go out from the car. By that, I mean the radio turns off, all the gauges go back to zero, and I would feel the car have no power. This occurs for about a full second in between gears and then everything would turn on again when i'm in the next gear.

This just started happening yesterday and my ABS light is now on. Where should I start looking for problem sources?

p.s. battery connections are fine and it's a new battery.

 

check for loose grounds
check your alternator

 

i 2nd the alternator

 

check for loose ground to your tranny from your negative at battery tray
