Busa as a first bike.

I have a friend who's looking to buy a brand new BuSa for his first bike. I tried convincing him otherwise, but he got his mind set on that.
A little background about my buddy. He's 6'7'' and is 350 pounds of muscle. He makes my F4i look like a pocket bike, and that is the only reason he wants a Busa. He stated after sitting on multiple bikes the Busa is the only bike he feels comfortable on.
Now, my questions is. Is a Busa too much of a bike for a guy that big? I understand where he's coming from, but I thin a Busa might be a little too much.

This is something I wrote on another board:

The only reason why he feels comfortable on that bike is because he's convinced himself that it is the bike that he wants to be seen riding.

That's about the best way I've ever heard it put.
This particular instance of the "beginner on a big bike" is a case where the physical size of the rider and bike come into play very heavily. It's not just about whether he can handle the bike's power, which is so often the logic used to dissuade newer riders from riding the higher displacement machines. He has to realize that riding a motorcycle is very different from driving a car, and at times requires snap decisions and evasive actions to avoid the ******* that's merging into your lane or turning left in front of you. Then he must consider that obviously with his large frame, whatever his BMI (body mass index) may be, no matter how much of him is fat or muscle, will he be able to control his body and the bike well enough and quickly enough with his limited experience to safely manage the dangerous situations that arise?

Yes a busa is too big for a beginner, however, with a person that weighs almost 3 times as much as me hopping on a busa may not be that different than starting on a 750.
If you think about it he is essentially doubling the weight of the bike its going to be quite a bit slower with him on there. What I am curious about though is his dexterity and ability to quickly maneuver with being so big.

I'm going to agree with jasper on this one. The ONLY reason he says he feels the most comfortable on the busa is because he wants the busa. Blindfold him and have him sit on random bikes, I doubt the busa is the one he will feel more comfortable on.

I’m sure he could learn on a busa. But the learning experience would be a lot slower a more expensive then if he just bought something smaller an slower for the first time

Tell him not smart at all Parts are exspensive as hell... The hayabusa sticker on the front of my 01 is $200 for the damn sticker. Not to mention how much power these bikes really have they are not forgiving... Comfort wise its the most comfortable sport bike ive ever ridden its like a big couch. But end decision if he wants to spend 12000 on his first bike and have that much power he is personally stupid he will have it wrapped around something in a week. But it is HIS decision and his alone....

Well, maybe for someone like you or I, but his forearm is bigger than your whole body.

I think its not a bad idea at all. Everyone in the motorcyle forum here thinks you need so start out on a damn 200cc dual sport dirtbike. Just because he is a beginner doesn't mean he's dumb, its not like you can only go WOT on a bike.
The reason i say this is because the first streetbike i learned on was a 954, and i was 16 and 130lbs at the time, just don't be dumb and you can start on a turbo busa if you want.

What exactly does that have to do with anything even remotely motorcycle related? So because he's a human tree that makes him an expert and he's immune to completely idiotic decisions? A Hayabusa as a first bike, regardless of how big he is, is not a good idea.

Tell your friend to stop being such a puss and buy the bike already.
A busa is nothing!
I started on an rc211v so a busa would be cake.

Hey, relax, buddy. It's just an inside joke.
