what's a good price for a clean Type R?
i'm in socal and i might have access to a deal on a type r.
it's a 2000 phoenix yellow, stock except for an oem jdm metal front end conversion.
45,500 miles.
clean title.
the idea would be to trade my 1997 lexus sc400 coupe with cash for the type r.
kbb for my car is around $10,500.
how much cash should i be offering? i am thinking about $3.5k or so max.
what are some thoughts?

If you are serious at least double your cash offering.

no... it was selling on ebay a while ago for a buy it now of $15.5k
so i'm guessing i possibly could pick it up for a combined value of around $14.5k or so if i negotiate with him.

</TD></TR></TABLE> Try it and see. 15.5k is a damn good price. There is a 2000 Euro spec ITR here in Germany, that I thought about buying as a second ITR. It has 151k kilometers 91k miles. He only wants 10k US for it. It doesn't have a title though, so thats one pain, and converting to US specs isn't cost effective either.
