The Falken Ziex (the ZE-512 and its replacement, the ZE-912) is an all-season tire. And not a particularly good all-season, either.
All-season tires are designed for folks who need to use the same tires in snow and frigid cold as they do in moderate to warm temperatures. The downside of that greater flexibility is that they don't perform as well in moderate to warm temps as summer tires, and they don't perform as well in winter conditions as winter tires.
If you drive to mountain areas or to northern states in winter, then you might need all-season tires. And if you do, the Kumho ASX ($82/tire in 205/45-16 at Discount Tire) is much, MUCH better than the Falken Ziex. But if you stick around the SFBay area, where it never snows, you'll get much better performance from summer tires. In which case, get the Kumho SPT ($81/tire in 205/45-16 at tires-easy.com.

The SPT is a much better buy than the KDW. The performance is very close between the two, but the KDW costs a whole lot more money. (For example, the Tire Rack charges 57 percent more money for the KDW in 205/50-15, vs the similar SPT.) Which makes it a no-brainer; it would be pretty stupid to pay a whole lot more money for the same performance.

The BFG g-Force Sport is a crappy tire (this is not the same tire as the g-Force KDW). The Kumho SPT is much much MUCH better in every way. It's also cheaper. So you're wasting your money if you get the g-Force Sport instead of the SPT.
Try the SPT and you'll see how much better they are.

i checked out that tire-easy.com and i seen the dunlop Direzza DZ101.are they any good.when i was putting on my azenis on my 15's the guy at the tire shop said the dz101 are better than the azenis.
can someone comment them.iam looking into just buying them.cant go wrong with dunlop

the direzza will last longer and be better in wet conditions, but dry grip is no contest- azenis win that hands down. so depending on what the shop was basing their judgement on that may or may not be the case.
the SPT is still better than the direzza in most cases for very similar money. i bought direzzas in the past because they were on sale at the time, otherwise i would have bought the SPTs

Less. All-season tires tend to last longer than summer tires. The SPT lasts pretty long for a summer tire, typically anywhere from 25K to 45K miles. The Ziex ZE-912 comes with a treadwear warranty of 40K or 65K, depending on size.
But again, consider whether you really need an all-season tire. And if you do, the ASX is better than the Ziex. And like the Ziex, tread life for the ASX should be longer than for the SPT.
