consideringthis 1996 cbrf3 tell me what yall think..
on a local forum this guy is selling a 96 f3 and i want to know if this is worth picking up....this will be my first real streetbike...i raced dirtbike since i was 12 and i have a xr200 that i ride every know and then on the steets..
here is all the info that the guy gave me
in some of the pics he has the front fender off so he could paint it but anyways
1996 Honda CBR 600 F3
18,000 miles
Mods:
HID (8000k)
CBR Racing gel grips
Vortex Aluminum 520 Front Sprocket (15 tooth...stock)
Vortex Aluminum 520 Rear Sprocket (48 tooth....43 stock)
RK XSO Gold Chain - 116 links
Integrated tail light
!fender
Yoshimura RS-3 slipon exhaust (cut down ~6 inches)
Pirelli Diablo Front Tire (~5,000 miles)
Pirelli Diablo Rear Tire (~6,000 miles)
K&N Air Filter
Flipped shifter (1 up, 5 down - takes about 30 seconds to return to stock if preferred)
Oil was changed at 15,500 miles. The chain/sprockets combo have ~4,500 miles on them. The bike is an EXCELLENT first bike. Although I learned on a Ninja 250, this bike has taught me more about riding than the 250. It is tastefully modded to make it fun. I rode the bike every single day as a daily driver from March 11-September 11 with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I would not hesitate to ride it across the country. It would also make a great DD for those of you with weekend/track only bikes. Chain was cleaned/lubed every 400 miles religously. I ran Seafoam through it every 2 months.
Asking $2700
and the pics
it is the 1 cloest to the camera

he told me he painted it but not done with it yet

so is this worth getting and i talked him down of the price also.
any info would be nice...

seems a bit high for spray painted/mismatch fairings. I would wait it out a little bit, should be able to find better deals in a month or 2.
F3s are great bikes, and $2,500 isn't a terrible price, but I'd rather pay less for a repainted bike like that. Also if you do decide to pick it up, make sure you check the bike for all the little things that might need to be replaced ($$$).
- Steering Bearings
- Fork Seals
- Tires
- Brake Pads/Fluid
- Cam Tensioner....

Did he give a reason for the different fairings? Rarely do people move from stock painted fairings to aftermarket unpainted fairings, unless they out it down of course. Also, watch out for anything "he painted". Rattlecan paint jobs = better bargaining power for you.
he didnt say why he rattle can the bike so who nose i thought it looked better with the stock paint job then rattle can in black...

You also have to consider it will be slightly harder to resell the bike to a normal consumer.
Hah, i think i've seen that somewhere before, like on cbrforum, and he had a pretty bad crash, it looked exactly like that, but don't take my word for it, lemme try to find a link.
