Oil filter relocation kits
I don't know anyone who makes a good "kit." You're better off buying the block adapter, filter mount, and hose/fittings by themselves since you can get quality parts. I would avoid "universal" block adapters, rubber hoses, and crimp-on fittings, for example. Permacool makes good stuff, which can be had through racer wholesale. Earl's for everything else. I'll post some pics of my CRX install when I'm done. It will have the block adapter, remote filter, oil cooler, and accusump.
itr#231,
did you get the spin on oil adapter and single remote oil filter mount that permacool offers? and then got all the other fittings and hoses from earl's?
thanks.

I'm more interested in where you mounted the remote. I plan on going with Perma-Cool parts and probably a Setrab cooler if I need one. As for lines, I'm going with Aeroquip.
Where are some good spots to mount the remote?

I kinda dont get the point of this.. Can someone help me out and explain it a little? Thanks.
Remote filter: Easier filter changes, can run a larger filter, can connect gauge senders
Oil cooler: Um, cools oil
Accusump: pressurized oil reserve to avoid starvation
I personally don't think it's worth the effort if you're just going to run the remote filter, but the whole system is really nice to have.
well the thing i was wondering about was the relocation kit of the filter, I dont see the point of just moving the filter, but.. I get the other stuff.
Yes. I got the block adapter that fits most of the Hondas since they all use the same oil filter from permacool, and I also ordered their comp oil filter mount with 2 inlets and 2 outlets. That lets me run oil in from block, out to cooler, and have room for the temp and pressure senders all at the same place. I can also run a much larger oil filter. I got my Earl's fittings and hoses through Summit Racing since they had the best price (although they're expensive anywhere you get them).
i will probably do this, sans the oil cooler, as i have some more guages going in to monitor everything.
what did all of this cost you? where did you mount the oil cooler itself?
The block adapter and the filter mount were around $15 each. Earl's SS hose is $6-9 per foot depending on how much you buy at once and what type you get, and the fittings will depend on the type you get (straight is cheaper than 45 or 90 degree bends). Figure about $9-10 each for top quality straight fittings, $5-7 for the econo type. Oil coolers run anywhere between $50-150 depending on size and quality (price range for Honda size, obviously there are $1000 oil coolers and $10 oil coolers but you don't want either). Accusumps run $50-300 depending on size and valve type.
