I know this is not the O/T forums but I just wanna share it with the ITR guys hehe!

I was @ work today, my mom works @ the same place as I do. My mom's boss has an on the side company, his job is to test drive cars and write reviews on the internet. So I see him drive in with a freaking AUDI R8. I'm like holly sh*t! So I go and chat with him and he's like, hop in, we're going for a ride. So we do a couple of accelerations (holly sh*t that car is awesome) and we stop to take some pictures (only had my camera phone, and he's got a digital camera) so he takes a couple of shots, then ask's me if I wanna sit in the driver seat for photos. So I'm like ok sure. Takes a couple of pics, then he goes on the passenger side and sits...I'm speechless, all he says is go ahead have fun! I'm like WHATTTT!!! So I drove a freaking Audi R8 for like 20km! Anyways, just wanted to share that with you guys! Here are a couple of pics with my cell phone, there will be more once he gives me the other pictures! ENJOY!!!

Notice the 2 calipers? Those are the rear brakes BTW! hahahaha!

That's awesome. Not every day you see an R8, much less get to drive one. You got a pretty cool boss.

BTW, R8's aren't supercharged.

 

No your right, my bad, its not supercharged, its just the sound that it was doing, I really tought it was hehe!

The brakes, one is for regular braking and the other caliper is for E-brake

I always thought Audi's looked ugly considering their dollar value.

True story...

I was driving back from Jax to Orlando... stopped in Port Orange (near Daytona) and saw one of these at a gas station...

Thing was though... the car wasn't even released yet and hardly and spy photo's out there. So i asked the old guy driving if i could take a pic, he said sure just don't let "them" see you. Behind the R8 was one of their SUV's full of 4 German d00ds...

Fast forward to gettting back on the HWY, i'm still amazed and looking all over this car. So I proceed to take my phone out again and take a pic. This time the ****'s noticed and started swerving at me, trying to block the shots and screaming at me in German. It was great!!!

 

i've got a few friends over here with RS4's, RS6's, and M3's etc.


we all agreed its way overpriced for what it is

 

I was lucky enough to take one out on track at Autobahn Country Club back at the end of August this year. I was there with my team for an HSR event a day early testing on one track ... and Audi had the other track rented. They brought RS4's and R8's ... the R8 is amazing. It is very well mannered (AWD) and took everything thrown at it ... the Rtronic gearbox (F1 style gearbox) works perfectly! By far one of the best cars I have ever had on track

That 2nd brake caliper is for the parking brake. Nice cars. They are built along side the Lamborghini Gallardo. Same plant, different assembly lines.
