Default noob help. K24 swap and ECU (I searched!)

I'm looking at buying an EP that has a stock K24A1 and a hondata Si reflashed ecu. I looked all over the internet and hondata's website, but cannot find any information regarding this motor and ECU combination. I even emailed Hondata and they said they don't do reflashes for motor swaps (wtf?). They said the ECU would be a reflashed ECU for the Si motor.

So basically what does the reflash do? Can I just pop in a stock K24 ecu? Is the reflashed Si ECU safe for a K24A1?

Help!

Get Kpro, you can program the ECU to run your K24a1. The reflash is a basic tune for bolt ons like I/H/E. Look on Hondata.com for more info about reflash.

Car already has reflashed ECU. Hondata says they don't reflash ECUs for K24A1. That's why I don't understand how this thing has been running for 45k miles.

I see a CRV ECU for sale in my city. I guess I'll have to throw the car on the dyno to see how it's running, and then make a decision based on that.

Thats why you have to get kpro to program the ECU to run the K24a1 properly. Thats the only way that I can think of.

IMHO-
You NEED a engine management program that works FIRST!
without it, you may have this!

NASTY!!!
582WHP K20 ENGINE

-Supposed to be boosted up to 35psi...
Engine management was wrong...
Blew motor at 42 PSI... BOOST cut-off Didn't work!

escentially,
KPRO will be needed or you will end up with that!
...poor bullfrog! someone said that was his 3rd engine! Damn!

sorry- he was trying to boost to 30psi- not 35...

but my point here is, you don't need a k24, so you dont see them very often.
i was told by my tuner, that i should get the k24 when i bought my ep3...

i looked into it... TOO MUCH HASSLE! - and changing everything out is very expensive!

if i wanted a bigger engine and had the money, i'd put the viper engine in it, and rear wheel drive!
i'd then need a real frame and roll cage...

you could get stupid silly on modding them... but for what?
they're great DD's as they are, plus you CAN get away with some nasty WHP if you need it!

if you use the stock K24 ECU, you'll be fine!

sorry for trying to help
...Good luck with the dumbest swap ever! (that's why you don't see it often!)

(Hey you gain no HP, But at least you'll have a little more torque, Right?)

awesome you finally got it, but I'm confused on your statement about EP and not EP3. This is the DC5/EP3 forum, right?

My EP3 (2003 Honda Civic Si) already has a K24. Well it appears to do fine. I practically stared at the AF gauge as I drove home. The iVTEC is weird with the lean burn mode while coasting. But it was basically almost always rich and sometimes hitting the stoich area of the gauge. So that puts me at ease. Don't know how the ECU works with the K24, but I guess it does. Maybe the computer was able to learn?

KPro would be nice, but this thing is going to be my daily driver beater. The fully modded 240 is the fun car (and boy is it fun!).

ok, here is where YOU have Everyone confused...
i thought you may have an EP4! or EP5!

BECAUSE- if it is an EP3....
Heres the good part!-
YOU DON'T HAVE A STOCK MOTOR...
NO K24's came "Stock" in an EP3!
(You understand this, correct?)

1. If you understood that, REREAD your own post... it makes no sence!

2. and Please Don't say "Well the motor wasn't modded, so that means it's stock..."
....
AS SOON AS ANY K24 is PULLED OUT OF A VEHICLE, IT becomes NOT STOCK!
no matter what ecu or mod's you have or haven't done!
now...
How can i help you?
