Default ride height

I'm just wondering if this type of ride height is achievable with just lowering spring? or would i have to get coilovers? and if it is achievable then is it actually drivable for a DD? im not talking like potholes and stuff i just mean for the highway and city street driving. I.e. the only thing im concerned about is the turning raduis

That car is obviously photoshopped, it really isnt that low and whoever did it is a horrible photoshopper. It is possible to get that low, you just need to chop half the srpings off, take off the bump stops, and be ready to buy new shocks when you start to hate the ride.

Only thing photoshopped about that car is the colors....it really is that low. People in CALI like to ride LOW....I believe that's HeyMikeyyyy's car...part of the PHAZE2 crew I think. Do a search for his username, and you'll see him and the other guys in PHAZE2 all ride on the ground. Coilovers or full suspension coilovers makes it possible to get that low..only problem is that the ride quality is garbage.

example from a quick search:

PM him....

mikey is dropped on gc/koni all the way down with gc tophats.

it would be a poor idea to daily drive at that height but people do it anyways. as for turning radius; well if you don't mind doing a 15 point turn just to get out of a parking spot, then riding slammed is right for you.

I was going to say, those pictures don't look photoshopped to me. My suggestion, don't do it. Ever heard of hardparkers? Those cars are perfect examples. The point of lowering your car (back when the OG guys did it in the early nineties haha) is for better handling, not bling. It might look cool but that's about it, it'll ride like crap and you'll get sick of crawling over every speed bump and dip and still scrape. My friend has full coilovers that cost about or almost $1k new while I have Tokico Illumina shocks and Skunk2 sleeve coilovers (I got this setup used for free for helping a buddy out) and I'd be willing to bet my car handles better than his just because his is too low, even though his is supposed to be way better. BTW, whoever mentioned Konis, I'm pretty sure he was talking about the Koni Sport shocks, commonly called Koni Yellows. To sum it up like I said, don't do it. Get a nice suspension with a good height that'll give you good practical handling, not bling and nothing else. Also if you want to go pretty low, I'd suggest Tokico Illuminas or preferably Koni Yellow shocks or just a nice full coilover, and the Ground Control tophats give you more room to lower your car while having a little extra shock travel. Having nice handling and not scraping everywhere is way better than bouncing all over the place and buying new shocks all the time. Perfect example of function over fashion (not that it won't look good at a reasonable ride height, plus you won't look like a retard ricer bouncing constantly everywhere you go).

it's all preference really. slamming my car has really made me a more careful driver. i learn to look ahead to scan the road and have to go slow on freeways because a dip will cause the front tires to scrape the fender lining.

raise it up for track days. slam for street. free alignment hookup ftw.

Not everyone lowers their car or builds their car for performance, mine is lowered for looks. If you want your car low, do it. Mine is pretty low and it rides pretty good too, it just took some extra work to make it ride good.

Also get the coilovers so you can get just the right height.

I can't stand "Lowering Springs" they don't do it for me. I didn't buy my honda to race.... i bought it for MPG, so.... Slow N low is the way to go.
