gsr mix & match
There are plenty of parts that will swap directly over. What are you doing, changing synchro sets? The only differences are 3-5 gear ratio and the final drive.
well the reason i want to change some stuff out is because some of the parts from the tranny are bad. the problem that i was having is that after i had a quife lsd installed i couldn't downshift. i didn't figure this out till like two weeks after i had it installed. one day i was on the fwy and an sti starts reving his engine and i was on fifth just cruising, so i tried to downshift (for the first time after i had the lsd installed) and i got a nasty *** grind. i mean it wouldnt even go into third. it felt like if i just tried to put it in without stepping on the clutch. well what i ended up doing is reving the engine to like 5k rpm in order for the gear to go in smoothly. i later figured out that i had the same problem going from 5-4 and 4-3. 3-2 were basicly the only gears to go in smoothly. so i took it back to the guy who installed the lsd and told him that the tranny was all jacked up. he opened it up and said that the tranny had taken a beating (not true) and he said it was because i forced the gears in very hard too many times (NOT true). so he concluded that the sliders (whatever that is) are messed up and i think the synchros. so please help. if i could get the parts from an ls then i will. its a hydro tranny by the way. thks and sorry its so long.

i made sure it had enough oil before starting it up. i might also add that i had to shift slowly because if not i would get a little gring and i didn't like it. i was told to mess with the clutch pedal and adjust it. but i guess the whole time it was just the tranny. so what parts can i take from an ls and put in my gsr?
PM "bense" he's the tranny gury
