I've always used Honda MTF. Though Redline is a reputable product, I don't see why you couldn't use it, just make sure you get the proper weight.

yah, not sure if this was the right one. it says it satisfies requirements for 75w, 80w, and 90, but anyone have any knowledge?

i think i should have picked up mtl, but will mt-90 work as well?

I've used Redline (dont think it was the MT90) in my gsr trans....and at first, it was nice...BUT, I noticed it was harder to get into gear when the car was cold. I also think it did more damage than good. Used gm sychromesh and it was a night and day difference! Honda MTF and gm synchromesh is what i recommend.

Redline products are very good. Make sure you check the website though, use their product application guide for your car, and it'll tell you what weight is safe for your tranny. I'd be a bit cautios using anything other than MTF or synchromesh on our transmissions though. Double check to make sure. If you want to experiement try it, if it gets harder to shift, try amsoil synchromesh. It is really nice stuff.

Red Line recommends the MTL for use in Honda transmissions, though I personally would use standard Honda MTF. Either way, MT-90 is not the stuff you want.

It shows it can be used in transaxles that use the consistency of 10w40 so I see no problem

I used that stuff for about a year in my Integra, hoping it would help save my 3rd gear synchro. Over that year it went from mild grinding when shifting fast high in the rev range to almost unusable, I could barely shift into 3rd over 2000rpm without grinding.

Then I changed it out for Honda MTF and the grinding almost stopped entirely, I gotta wonder what shape my transmission would be in now had I just gone straight for the MTF.

Lesson learned.

75w-90 is THICK and doesnt flow well. 75w-90 is for differentials.
Amsoil MTF is the best trans oil ive used on my integra. It's a bit pricey at between 13-15 a quart but worth it. I change mine in 50k intervals and the fluid is still nice and golden when drained.

Whatever you get, you need 3 quarts. If the car is leveled correctly, only about 2.3-2.5 will go in.
