Default gas mileage..what are YOU getting?

i am getting some crappy mileage off my 97 type R.. i mainly do city driving and i don't beat on the car much if at all.. i generally cruise around 2-3 thousand rpm.. yet i'm only getting 350km on a tank (217 miles).. i suspect it's the O2 sensor but my engine light wont' come on so i can't get a read on which O2 sensor that's messing up.. would there be any other reasons for my weak mileage? thanks for your time HT

Also, miles per tank really doesn't tell me anything, since you're not filling up and running till completely empty. What you need to do is figure out the MPG.

IIRC, didn't the window sticker say 22/29 or something like that? And since you're doing mostly city driving, which I'm guessing is a lot of stop & go and idling, 22MPG seems about right.

Window sticker stated 25/30mpg I believe.

I typically get 225-250 miles before the needle shows really close to empty but average around 30mpg mixed driving.

I think I managed 30 mpg when I brought my car back home from Long Beach. In town, however, I get a very low ~22mpg or so. Probably because I am running super rich and need a retune for higher elevation and warmer weather.

With a mixture of hwy and city driving I went 425km on 10gal of gas.

On a side note does the 96spec jdm itr have a 13.2gal tank?

25 mpg mixed (back roads and autobahn). Road trips 20 - 22 mpg staying around 120- 130 mph somtimes having to slow down for construction or speed limits. Back in the States I used to get 29-30 mpg keeping it around 85-90 mph.

That sounds like fun. I used to go over to Germany a lot on business. If you were not going that fast you would get run over.

depends on time of year, time of day, and location. I live in the sticks, so local autobahns are clear. I find backroads much more fun. I have had Audi RS6 avants pass me with kids waving in the back. I look down at my speedo and I am doing 130mph. I have all kind of cars f#####g with me. I will leave some and others will leave me. I had a Lambo stay beside me when I was at 8400 rpms and 150 mph. The Lambo driver gave me a and took off .

This is stock (the same for I/H/E): 24 MPG in city and 29 MPG on highway (90 mph to 100 mph with rpm @ 4500-5000)

On Toda Spec C's, Power FC and 310cc RC: 22 MPG to 23 MPG in city and I don't know about highway. lol

I normally get 30 on highway and in town around 20 or so.....it's been a while since I last calculated it though. The car gets a reasonable workout each day though.....I've got a stop & go 5 mile commute to work each day and a fairly regular 30-45 minute cruise after work in which I do push myself and the car fairly hard on the challenging parts of my normal cruise route.

ctr pistons, 310cc, 4.9fd gets me 350km per tank as well.
