Default i think i may have an ls crank in my gsr?

ok, i bought this block and crank together. i was told it was a gsr crank, but after getting the motor put together, im not sure. on rotation of the crank, the pistons go just barely above the top of the cylinder. and i mean barely. but still past it. but what really has me thinkin its an ls is because the gsr rods i have a little side to side play on the crank. the ls crank has wider journals than the gsr right?

If you had an LS Crank w/ GSR rods in a GSR block the pistons would definately come out the block, but even with the LS rods, depending on what pistons you use cause of the piston height variations, and if the block has been decked enough, the pistons will come out the block, mines did.

yeah its been decked and i am pretty sure thats why it comes out a little. is there suppose to be a little side to side play with the eagle rods?

Im not sure what the rod to crank specs are for stock, but i doubt eagle rods will be more than stock clearance. Check a manual and then measure your play.

your allowed some rod end play. look it up in a shop manual for exact specs but im thinking the max is around .0016. also if its a ls/b20 crank only one counter weight will be machined. the gsr/type r have both machined, and the type r have a r stamped on them
