Opinion about ROTA wheels for ITR?
Anyone have anything good or bad to say about ROTA wheels for their TYPE R? They look like they are a good deal, but it's looks too good to be true. Lightweight, good looks, and quality. It's hard to believe. Thanks. Anyone have the ZIGEN N1 Racing wheels? They look cool as hell.

Price=
Looks= Subjective. On here you have people who hate copies, and people with copies who won't spend the money on the originals (I personally have had both and I could care less what anyone else tries to do. Its your money so ultimately your choice)
Quality= Hard question to answer. I had Volks on my R and they were great (Took a beating and still were good). I had Rota's on my Civic and paint started to flake (No reason why they just started to flake). Sold them and got some more Volks for my Civic. Very happy with the quality of the wheel.
It comes down to preference. I got my Gram lights for a really good price (Ended up paying a few hundred more then the knockoff rota's), but for me getting a quality wheel was worth the extra money. This is my experience with Rota's VS Wheels they copy (Which is what this topic will no doubt turn in to.)
Sidenote: I will get some 15 inch attacks I can abuse for auto-Xing eventually (IF I keep this car that long).

great cheap @ss price
, but they are not even "close" to reals
... it's kind of like a GSR put Type R sticker on it.

Spoon's aren't even original, but so many morons think they are.. then bitch about "spoon" copies, which may be copies of other wheels in reality. Further, who cares what they look like.. most people buy them to get some "light", strong and CHEAP wheels.. not for entering car shows.. (although most of the ITR forum seems to be filled with car show stunnas nowadays anyways)

technically Spoon are not copies. They are made by another company for Spoon (Same guys who make Rega Masters ?). That's not the same thing as a blatant copy of a well known wheel that Volk/Advan makes.
I'm not saying anyone is wrong for buying Rota's are ponying up the rest of the dough to the originals. I've been on both sides of the fence.

THe finish is shitty but that's the only shitty thing about them. Paint will scratch and flake easily but who the hell cares that's what Krylon's for.

Well there was a discussion awhile back and the impression was that the Desmond Regamaster's are VERY close in appearance to another wheel.. I can't remember what wheel or find the discussion.
They're all the same.

I remember that post as well. I think the issue was that the same company that makes Regamasters, makes the SW388 (Hence why the Regamasters aren't available in flat black, I could be wrong.)
My point is that even you "have a company make wheels", its still not the same as blatantly copying the wheels.
I'm not gonnaa hate on someone for buying copies. I spent my money for some Volks and I'm happy, they spent they're money on some attacks and they're happy (I don't think my finish is available from Rota for the attack).
As long as someone doesn't hate on me for buying expensive wheels or try to pose like they have the real deal and they are fakies. I don't care.

Rotas are good value'd wheel. Id rock Rota's anyday. I think alot of people dont really buy the Desmond/Spoon for their TRUE meaning and buy it only for the name. Those people dont even put them to full use either!
Its their money, so Ill just be quiet now
