Where should i go from here?
Well guys, yesterday was a bad day ... RIP my baby, my gsr is blown
. Pulled the head off today, one valve broke, put a whole in a piston, and cracked the sleeves, so pretty much the whole long block. So where should i go from here. How much does it cost to get new sleeves, and installed? how much for some pistons, and install? For now i might put together a mini me. I bought me a z6 head for 70 about 2 months back, and have a b7 in the backyard. so im just gonna do a mini me until i come up with something else. I already miss her
... i pulled the b7 head off and noticed that the sleeves on this block were hella dirty, how can i clean this up? Thanks guys

clean it with some parts cleaner or you could take it to a machine shop and let them put it in a bath with whatever they use. and I would just do an ls/vtec or something since the block is shot. its the perfect time.
well the head and block are gone, but im left with a jdm gsr lsd tranny ... i was even thinkin h2b! here are some pics ...
RIP

if you look at the bottom of the pics you can see the crack on the sleeves, im still mad, i never pushed the engine to the limits, and it did this to me
I guess it depends on your goals. If you just want a bolt-on type of vehicle I would just buy another long block and call it a day. If you are looking for a high boost application or a strong all motor car then I would say re-sleeve it and build the current block. Speaking from experience building a motor gets real expensive real fast so be prepared. Oh and to answer your question about sleeving prices it seems to run about $1000 from what I've seen. Good luck
Sorry about the motor..that sucks, but you definately good make the best out of this. H2B would certainly be a cool choice
or your could get a B18b or even a B20 for that matter and put them up to some boost if that's what you want.
How much money you got to spend?
