Alright I currently have a 92 Prelude with a h22a swap in it. It's decently fast, my friends have an 99 Civic Si and an 03 Elcipse GT. We trade victories but I think my car would easily outrun them exceot its an automatic and is slower then **** off the line. I have an oppurtunity to get a 00 Accord v6. I think they have like 220 stock? It's also an automatic but how do you think i'd match up against them? If theres anyone out there with the v6 how do you like the power it produces? Just tryin to get some input and see what you guys think.
200 stock HP
auto trans = major problems
fastest 6th gen accord was the 98LX V6 coupe because it was the lightest of the bunch with a 0-60 time of 7.2 and a 1/4 mile of 15 sec
I had one and I got rid of it and got my current car and it owns any 6th gen stock accord with ease in terms of raw performance and hwat comes in the car

Your H22 and the J30 for the 6th gen are putting down roughly the same amount of power. Also both are AT's. For whatever reason the j30 only came with an AT for that gen. Lame,IMO. not to mention that tranny has MAJOR problems. I wouldnt say you'de really be upgrading. Swap out your AT for an MT and you're looking good.

I'd buy another car before I swapped in a manual tranny. I had a 95 Accord and traded it straight up for my prelude and basically got a steal. It would take alot of money if I really wanted to fix my prelude up and it has the classic honda rust in the fender well that can't be fixed. The prelude is a dohc and the accord is sohc, do you think i'll feel a power difference there? What is the rev limit and where does the vtec hit in the accord? Is there a speed limiter?
generally speaking the accord overall would be an upgrade from your current ride
it is BIGGER
it is nicer on the inside
V6> any honda I4 in terms of power delivery and engine responsiveness, not to mention it dosen't sound like a bunch of angry hornets when making power
problems with the car and their solutions
1. transmission = design flaw that is mostly corrected by removal of internal filter and replacing it with an external inline one
2. delphi pos alternator = repalce with new 7th gen accord alt or oddessy alt (you have to extend your alt wires by 4" though) as those are real honda parts and definately not made by delphi
3. EGR but most of then should have been fixed by now if not it most likely will be a good will replacement
4. OPDS but again that is a warranty repair if you ever need it
V6 acocrd drives dead on center and you can toss it around all day long if you get the coupe.
car is limited to about 125 or so if you do not wind it out to redline in 3rd gear before moving to 4th otherwise top end is 145 (this is due to severe lack of low end torque)
Vtec engages at 4000 rpm but you don't feel it until 4500
fuel cutoff is approximately 6300rpm

yes as long as the v6 has vtec. like those guys said get a four cylinder with manual trans. basically consider selling/trading your car

i'd sugest a 4 banger stick. its cheaper and faster period.
if not then get it. if you don't beat on it, it will hold up just fine
