choosing brakes
Not sure if this is the right place to post this question, if it isn't can mods please move. Ok so im in need of new pads/rotors. I have a Daily Driven 2000 honda civic ex with stock motor. Im going to use steel braided brake lines, Hawk pads, and as far as rotors.. i cant decide between Brembo Blanks or Slotted (not drilled). I want to know ups and downs between these two. Discuss
I just ran my new slotted rotors on a brake lathe and it worked just fine. They were brand new but it's always a good idea to make sure they are true before just slapping them on, especially the fronts.
i use the cheapest rotors i can find. Most of the time i end up spending 25 dollars for a set of front rotors.
This is on a RACE CAR. No need to spend $$ for rotors on a street car.

Well, you shouldn't, but I'll make the point that your driving "hard on the streets" is probably less abuse than a typical out/in lap on the track. If a tracked Civic with more power and grip doesn't need slotted rotors, a street driven Civic doesn't either.
I don't know about those Autozone rotors, though. I bought a pair, once, and the stud holes were slightly of center, so they'd kinda wobble up and down. I took 'em back. Whatever you get, blanks are fine.

The only "difference" slotted rotors will "make" over blanks is in the balance of your bank account.
