Default non-ABS to ABS swap?!

Hey guys, I have a 97 Civic DX hatch (EK).. I'm just wondering if anyone has every done, or looked into switching a non-ABS car into ABS. I recently witnessed how important ABS in my car would be.

Anyways, I am just wondering is anyone has ever done this swap, or looked up on it.
Maybe you guys can help me out, like price wise, and what i have to do and what not. I am going to be doing the rear disk brake swap, and throwing on some stainless steel brake lines, but i hate that feeling of my tires locking up... Anyways, any opinions or thoughts about this will help. Thanks a lot guys!!

idk much about swapping that but i know it would be a lot of work. re-running a lot of lines and a ton of bleeding would be involved for sure. for parts like the abs box id say junk yard. i know the sensor are a little pricey too. plus new axles with the abs ring on them. why do you want abs anyway? is it a dd. you wont get much of an advantage if any for aggressive driving.

adding on abs to me doesn't seems like something that would be worth it. there's too much involved in getting it to work right. i recently looked up to see prices for my rear bearings and even that had abs, non-abs variations

u are going to need alot of parts...time and money consuming... not worth to do the conversion. u might as well as just upgrade the rotors ,pads..some ss lines...

I don't think stopping power is the issue here. I'd say enroll in an go to a deserted street, auto-x or a track event to learn how to stop your car better.

im not gonna bother arguing with everyone in this thread about abs being good or bad, but i will say that this is not a very expensive conversion.

If your buying everything new from Honda, then yes you will hate life quickly.

but if buying all the parts used, most these "racers" remove their abs anyways and are willing to part with the stuff for cheap.

im doin this to my hatch, if your still interested in what you need - shoot me a pm.

i am in the completion phase of this swap on my 95 coupe. it wasnt as difficult as you would think as long as you can handle computer controls. your hardest part will be removing the harness from a donor. your in luck because this generation honda uses subharnesses for everything. i only had to cut and splice 5 maybe 6 wires. if you like i can get you the abs wiring diagram and greater details if you are interested.
