Default When buying a used starter, does transmission type matter?

My 1994 Accord EX has been having starting issues lately. Not sure if it's the distributor or the starter, but the starter seems like the most convenient place to start. It did this last winter, but has been fine all summer. Just recently when it dropped to 50 degrees at night, it started doing this again.

So i'm looking at starters on Ebay. When buying a used starter, does transmission type matter?

woooooooo.. Hold on there , before you buy and replace anything, YOU NEED TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE,

starter and distributor are 2 totally different symptoms as to why car would not start

A bad starter will not crank the engine over,, you might hear a click

a bad distributor, engine will crank ( turn over ) but it will not start

So,, what exactly is your issue ???

There is no clicking. There is either complete silence or the car will attempt to turn over for half a second, then silence. I have managed to get the car to turn over by repeatedly turning the key for about 10-15 seconds.

I just don't understand why it did this last winter.......was fine the whole summer........and then 50 degrees hits and this mess starts all over again.

I'm pretty sure the battery is good, it has been tested. I replaced the battery last winter when it was doing this. There is no fading of lights or anything.
