New goal for the Prelude Forum - Eliminating Misinformation
not to point anyone out, but it just kinda put me over edge in creating this thread.....you know who you are
Guys, here is the deal. When you are posting, READ WHAT YOU ARE TYPING BEFORE YOU POST IT and think to yourself....."is this aiding the forum or the original poster?"......"am i sure that i am correct?"
IF YOU DONT KNOW, DONT POST. Pretty simple concept. And dont just post something and make it sound like you know what you are talking about because the people that do know what they are talking about will come in and correct you. So why post when you know someone else can go into further, correct depth on the topic. My new goal here is to eliminate misinformation. I know this is damn near impossible but it is possible to reduce it.
What many people dont realize is that there is a **** ton of people who read this forum expecting everything on this site to be the bible. and that is not the case. Many people who talk about this stuff have no experience and just spout off things they have heard from other sites or friends. There is a difference in having no experience and knowing what you are talking about and having no experience and being clueless yet trying to appear to have a clue.
If you want to post and dont know if you are right then add something like "i dont know for sure" or "im not 100% positive".....etc to the end of your post.
wanting to learn, wanting to help, and wanting to post = good, but within reason.
k, thats about it.
thanks,
Blake

i have received a few IM's asking why their posts were deleted. Guys, i told you i was going to be deleting posts and not to be suprised if i cleaned up a thread.
I think some of the misinfo is post'd by people who actually believe they are right. They may not actually intend to post misinformation but rather info that they believe is true. I myself have been corrected a few times on this..

I'm still around. I just care less about people's maintenance issues on their 15 year old Preludes. I got new projects. Anyone know where I can pick up a cheap K24 block? I'm seeking that hard-to-attain 4 pounds per horsepower car...
I already picked up a low mileage hydrolocked K20A2 longblock for $300. Now I just need a shortblock to sleeve to a 2.5 liter.
mmm 9-second street car.

Well summer is over and the nice weather is officially gone up here in NY. So all the nubs should revert back to their local rice spots soon and most of the misinfo should slowly die down.
