Default DIY Timing belt kit

So I searched the forum and I searched the FAQ and didn't see anything on this so I thought I would post on it.

I had to get my alternator replaced in my 2001 EX today and while it was in they told me with my mileage (approx. 103,000) I will be in need of a timing belt soon. They wanted $500 for it so I am not going to go through the dealership. I found a kit on eBay for $130 with all name brand parts but I am not very savvy when it comes to installing such components myself. Does anybody have some detailed tips on what I need to do to get this changed out? The kit I am looking at includes the following:

water pump with gasket
timing belt
both drive belts(models with AC)
front cam and crank seals
valve cover gasket
4 spark plug tube seals
5 valve cover bolt grommets

Again, I know basics about the car and not too in depth. My father was a master mechanic for Toyota but hasn't been able to do that since '93 so he said he could probably figure it out, but I would like some instructions to help if anybody is willing to give them to me? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

its pretty easy but you should get a service manual. the part you are missing is the timing belt tensioner they usually run close to 50.00.

Do you have to replace the tensioner if it is not making any funny noises as well as the water pump if it is not leaking or no grinding noises from the bearing?
Did anybody tried just changing the timing belt and lasted another 100k miles with no tensioner or water pump issues? Just curious.

On my 91 Accord, the timing and balance belt was replaced at 200k miles. The water pump was not leaking but I went ahead and replaced it as well as all the rollers.
