Default transmission problem

ok well i just took my car for a drive around my neighborhood, and i was not killing it i was babying the car around fastest i went was probably 25km/h. and i went to make a u turn i got all the way around and theni go to clutch in, give gas and release the clutch nothing happened, i thought i wasnt in gear so i tried again but same thing. i ended up pushing the car 2 km home by myself...im not paying a tow truck for that ****. so i get home jack the car up and take a quick look...from the outside everything looks good, axle didnt slip out, which was my first, well 2nd thought. so i put the car in gear and turned the wheels by hand and it feels like its going into gear. what could it be? im thinking clutch, but i wanna hear all possible ideas before i rip into it on saturday........the thing that sucks is that motor just went in too....and its a dohc zc just incase anyone wants to know

If it doesn't work in first sometimes, try starting in second when that happens and see if it works in that gear.

make sure your cable has tension, one time my friends da wouldnt go into gear and we pushed it across the road, tensioned up the cable, and then the clutch worked again.

axles are both in completely, but while i had it up and had the wheels off i decided to start it and see if its acting strange...ang yea it is...the passenger side will turn in all gears including neutral, with the clutch engaged or disengaged, the driver side will spin like an inch and stop, no mater what gear exc neutral

cable tension is good, has a bit of slack, but i played around adjusting it a little but still had the same problem.....the part that confuses me is that it caught when i started it like 2 days ago....hopefully ill find some time to rip it apart and find out whats going on soon.....
