I did a search and didn't find one of the many GC threads that answered my question.
I'm thinking about purchasing some ground control coilovers, at this time I don't have enough for shocks to accompany them. My question is, how well would the GC's operate on my stock shocks (I want to lower the car obviously) Is this a good idea or will I blow my shocks soon as I pull out the driveway.
FYI: I'd prob drive GC stock shocks for a 2-3 months before purchasing the shocks.
Thanks in advance.

It depends on how many miles your stock struts have seen especially with stock springs. If you are going from stock suspension to GC, I think they will last 2-3 months until you get aftermarket struts.

133xxx on the stock suspension.
It's a DD and I don't drive crazy. Only thing that worries me is the roads around here aren't in any type of prestien condition.

Also, If anyone has any other suggestions on a valuable way to lower my car (cheaper than $650 full coilovers) let me know. I'm just gonna be driving it DD but I want it pretty low and still retain some quality in the drive (not bouncy). The GC just seemed like a good idea cause I could upgrade it later with the shocks and have a real quality ride.
i have GC on my 99 sedan with stock shocks. rides pretty stiff for being stock shocks. wayy stiffer and better then my skunk2/stock shocks, blues/H&R sports springs...
Have a friend with an EG hatchback that's been using GC coilovers on stock shocks for over 3 years. None have blown yet, ride is stiff yet good.

If you are you going to get shocks anyways in 2-3 months, you should just wait to install it all at the same time.
This will save you time and hassle (and money if you are paying someone to install)
I highly recommend Koni Yellows
