need help with burning smell while driving..
My friend has a 2000 Civic EX. after driving it for a little bit and the motor warmign up it starts to smell like something is burning. Kind of smells like when you first turn ona heater for the first time or liek burnign coolant. I know this sounds weird but you can smell it the strongest when making a right hand turn. Does anyone have any ideas on what this might be or soemthign we can check? thanks
Coolant has a very sweet and distinct smell, Also pinhole Coolant leaks can give random small leaks only when warm *I had a taurus that would only leak while running.*

Wires only smoke once. Sounds like this happens all the time. So unless you're burning more wires everytime you drive for a long time, thats not its. Plus, burnt wireing leads to other problems.

Check the heater hoses too because they are back behind the motor and hard to see if they are leaking. I had this problem on my swap, heater hose was leaking and spraying over the back of the engine. Then the upper hose blew and also had to replace the hoses going into the TB/IACV. Coolant goes a lot of places in there so check them all for fluid.
