Default Whine from turbo

After driving for about 10-15 mins, turbo whines like a supercharger when it spools, around 4000rpm, beyond 5000rpm (when the turbo is spinning really fast) the whine cannot be heard.

If it was a brand-new turbo, it could be defective. If it was rebuilt or is just a used turbo 'with no shaft play', then probably needs to be rebalanced. Fast-spinning small turbos that have a bent shaft or are really out of balance will vibrate the turbo and make them whine.

lol sorry, but at first I thought he was just referring to the typical jet engine like noise that all turbos make.

What kind of turbo is it? Mines does that but that's because it's a GT3076R with twin intake housing
