3.5 vtec accord
its a 4 cyl the fl22 i knew that the nose was longer in the v6 but will he have to push back the firewall for the 3.5 i figure he probably will for it to fiit but he does not want to push it back
j3X up to the end of 2002 for accords and any CL/TL motor from 1996 to 2003 will fit into the I4 bay without modifying the firewall. J3X is more compact width wise than the I4. you will have to do some rewiring of the car to get it to work and use parts from the 3.0CL Might have some issues with newer blocks becuase they are SHORTER Same goes for oddesy the older 3.5L blocks will work but not the newer shorter ones.

so if people could put a 3 plus liter j series engine in a 96 accord shouldnt they be able to put a 3 liter c series. or is there something to this i dont know. cuz i think it would be bad *** to have an nsx motor in an accord like that. i know someone who has the 96 with a c27 so it would be the same series of motor just a lil bigger.
uhhh the nsx is rwd cause its a mid engine car dude. the engine sits almost above the axles and is angled forward you know similar to a fwd. yeah you'd prolly need custom drivshafts and whatnot but they are both horizontly mounted engines so whats your point. and besides that entirely people have converted fwd to rwd and awd so whos to say you couldnt do the opposite.
C series used in the accord is a 90 degreee CAST IRON HEAD AND BLOCK design and is LARGER an d heavier than a J3X
vtec_freak,
yes because you can use 3.0CL parts from the suspension and driveline. The older J engine blocks are all the same size. when they switched to the newer blocks, they are about 1/2" shorter

Yes this is true.. The new J-series (j30a4,j32a3,j35a4) engines are about a 1/2 shorter than their predecessors. Realistically, I think that this would be a more feasible swap as apposed to a c30-c32 swap. The NsX motor is pretty wide. I would think that the 5th gen's engine bay is not wide enough to accommodate the space required for an NsX swap. However, no one has ever attempted to do so.
