Default oops- this mistake is costing me dearly...

Ive gone and done it, the ITR front lower control arms im using are held together with a bolt and a stud.

Ive fitted a Whiteline caster kit, and ive gone and stripped the threads (dont ask me how) of the bolt (stud was replaced with a bolt as part of the kit).

Im finding it impossible to get ahold of the bolt off an integra (and yes, i have managed to get one from a civic and its a different spec) and i dont have a gauge to check the thread.

Does anyone know what the details of this bolt is, or have one lying around?

Thanks

No bolt/fastner supply type stores in your area? Usually thats where I go when it's something I need and don't have time to wait for Honda. They usually can get you a match for the thread/pitch/length/grade you need.

Afraid I can't help with replacing that bolt. However, since I own but have not installed, the Whiteline caster kit, how did you strip the supplied bolt? Sounds like something I wouldn't want to repeat installing my kit...

Wow, in all this time I haven't encountered anyone else using this kit.

I used the max amount of washers you can w/out requiring the extended bolts.

Hey- thanks for the replies!!

The UK isnt so great in that respect, if someone like me goes to a fastener suppliers (of which there are none locally), they tend to try and avoid you as just a couple of bolts isnt really practical for them

The problem was really my fault, .. Once upon a time, it was a long day- and i had run out of tea, couldnt get the washers to line up, so i thought a tap of a hammer would solve it- no- it didnt- it damaged the first thread... The problem i found with the kit was, it uses the fact that the rear part of the LCA cant go further back because of its mounting, so if you add washers, the only thing that can move is the front part- moving the ball joint further forwards, and increasing caster- fantastic...

But this means that if you take the LCA off to fit them, its hard to get it back on. When i did the drivers side i decided to try another method, just remove the rear part of it, again when i came to reassemble, the compression forces on the washers meant it was very hard to position them- and i messed up..

SuspendedHatch, It crossed my mind to retain the standard bolts, but i thought "my mate has a 10 ton press, i didnt know how the replacement bolt compared with the original, but i thought id give it a go. Works well and like you im running the max. amount of caster it gives you... Unfortunately after all that i wont test it because im missing a bolt lol.. got to laugh really...

The fact is i can try to contact fastener specialists- but theyre a pain, i thought i would ask to see if someone had the actual bolt- nothing beats the original part in my eyes- that way i can pretend it didnt happen!
