Default changing an I.A.C. valve

I am trying to change out an idle air control valve on a b18c1, never done it before and I was just wondering if anyone had any advice before I get started??? I noticed it has a little seal on it, do I need to replace it or can I just plug it back in as is? any help would be appreciated.
