Default What is necessary when changing timing belt?

besides getting the timing belt, what other items are needed to change or that i should change...since i am removing that area.

i know there is..

timing belt
water pump
tensioner
??

also, how much does each item cost? preferably the price of a genuine honda part.

i was trying to google some online honda stores but no luck.

you named all the parts. timing belt is like $50 bucks. not sure about the tensioner, i always reuse them, but i think their less then the belt.

Hondaautomotiveparts.com has the water pump, tensioner and belt for ~130 shipped IIRC.

btw, where do you find that combo deal on that site? i see that the water pump is like 90 bucks alone. tensioner and timing belt is like 50 bucks a piece.

That price was for a SOHC, maybe DOHC parts are more expensive.

Be sure you have a 50mm pulley holder/handle. The one thing I didn't have today when trying to remove my cylinder head. Have to wait till next Sunday to finish the job.

Maybe somebody else knows a way to get to the timing belt without removing the pulleys but I wouldn't try it.
