Engine makes high pitch grinding sound
It started last week making a high pitch grinding sound around 3k or more rpms, but then it goes away after about 5 minutes of driving. A friend said its coming from under the engine when I had him inspect it while i gassed it a lil in the driveway in nuetral till we could here the sound. I think its something to do with transmission, but I have to still drive it to school and work till I get a day off next week for someone to look at it.
Let me know what you think and how bad a problem it is. thanks.

i have that same problem, but mine comes on when i am at low rpm around 2000rpms then as i keep aclerating it goes away around 3000-3500rpms. its real annoying and i cant seem to find the problem. my car is a 97 Civic EX with a stock D16y8. If you find the problem please let me know
Trany bearings have a low rough grinding sound.........well the ones on the imput shaft do.
Open hood and play with trottle body and listen around while doing so.

Could be a rod bearing or MJ bearing. Change your oil and look for flakes.
The sound of a spun bearing can be different so I would check that.
