Wagon started to shake pretty bad
So my girl has been driving my wagovan for the last 3months to save some gas money, and tells me that it has started to shake real bad at idal.
I went and started it up, and yes it was a bad shake. Put it into gear and got a little worse. I drove it to Auto-Zone bought some spark plugs. On the way home the shaking went down quit a bit. Less shaking at stop signs and idal.
So I get home and pull out spark plugs. I was wrong, they where all clean looked good. So I replaced the plug wires with a set I had in the garage.
Still shakes pretty bad when parked.
Any other ideas?
Heres a pic of the wagon, to get the pic icon to draw you guys in.

Very first thing I would check. specifically the front motor mount and rear tranny mount.

I guess I do have some advice to give....I was having a jerking problem with my hatch...decided to check the motor mounts.
The one that hooks the tranny up front wasn't even bolted. Bolted it up...problem solved.

gonna go outside and check the mounts. Make shure all teh bolts are all the way in.
What else am I looking for? How do I cheack if they are ripped other than by pulling them out?

I would either shake the motor hard, or open the hood and get a friend to stand beside the car while you put it in first to see if your motor rocks back and forth.
You could just throw a board over a floor jack...lift up the motor under the oil pan...see how much the engine moves before the entire car starts to lift.
Shouldn't have to lift very far, just enough to see how much play they have.
I'm sure there are better ways...just an idea that popped into my head....

Put the car in gear.
Dont turn it on.

Just tried this. Looks good. No unusall movement.

hmmmm, you say your girl has been driving. Does she get gas the same place as you or the same brand everytime? Maybe you have a bad tank of gas. Also, when was the last time the fuel filter was changed?

This did cross my mind this mourning as I was putting gas. I filled it up with 92oct from Chevron . With hopes that maybe it was just a bad tank of gas. She really don't care to much about gas. She only goes to what evers cheaper and easyer to get threw.
As for the filter, I'm going to go buy one later today. Never changed it wile I've owned it.

when was the last time u did a throttle body service on it? not too hard to do and will make the car idle so much better. the air/fuel mix is so critical at idle. if u do this i would recomend pulling off the the idle air controll out and give it a good shot of carb cleaner. takes about 1 1/2 hours tops. good luck man
