Default What is a good drop range?

I have a 94 LS 4dr and Im doing my suspension soon, getting new struts and springs and cant decide wether I want to do 2.5/1.7 F/R with Tein S springs or 1.75/1.5 F/R with H&R sport springs. Would a 2.5" drop in the front be too much?

edit: Forgot to mention, Ill probably be getting Tokico HP struts.

It depends on what you are doing with the car. If it's just for looks then as low as you dare to go, IMO. If it is for performance you want to have decent suspension travel for weight transfer so you can't lower it too much. Also you will want the back lower than the front, i know it sounds wrong but it's the way the corner weights work out. It also helps move the cg back and let you use the rear tires a bit. But how much lower depends again on what you are going to be doing with the car. It seem for something like auto-x you would want to induce as much oversteer as you can, cuz it helps on the tighter courses. For track probably you'll probably want to not mess with anything until you learn how to drive you car fast. up to you tho what you want to do with the car.

I went for the H&R sports, they look pretty much perfect to me. So if you go S tech, and you have a lot of bumpy roads, expect some chafing of your wheels.

Tokico HP struts
get something else to go with H&R, like koni.
tokico hp are like oem , can only support very little drop.

would kyb gr-2 shocks be better than the tokicos? I've been reading reviews saying the tokicos blow quick if you use any drop.

i did 1.3 all around and i get way better handling, and the car looks better-not completely slammed though...and i have a 2dr...reson why so little drop is because you must think-do you have to drive in snow or potholes like phila???

My car handles better with stock ITR suspension, than any of my previous cars which were lower. I'd say .75-1.5 inches for best handling, anything lower and your just pimping your car around, looking for blown shocks

x2

you just get more function out of the suspension for which they are designed for. unless you are a ricer that has to drive a car all the way to the ground to be noticed. buy your setup for performance, not style. just look at the itr's...

If you want serious handling for a decent budget, take a look at GC coilovers and Koni Yellows. Including top hats, you can get the whole setup for about $1k. The Konis have a lifetime warranty too, so if you manage to blow them you can get them replaced.

I have a set of PIC Apex P2 coilovers on my DB7 and I love the way it feels and handles... Im lowered like 2" if not a little more in the rear... and I think it looks great with 16" wheels... I was dropped about 3" on 14" wheels but it was too low for daily driving.

Gc + koni yellow... amazing handling... I'm competing with that set up and always get in the best times... Add a 22mm sway bar and good tires (falken or z212) and you wont believe the difference! for the drop i'd say about 1/2 inch in the gap between the tire and quarter/front wing... To low you will bottom...
