Default F23 bottom, F22a head N/A build.

Looking to do something a little different. I've had the turbo F23 and it make great power but alot of building and up and down time, not to mention not to reliable for any every day car. So I was looking at doing an N/A F series. Use the F23 bottom end and bore it out 1mm, possibley use base RSX pistons and ARP rod bolts, H23 head studs, F22a head w/ head work Custom Bizi cam (already have) and teflon coated rocker assy., Bizi springs and retainers, and custom Bizi header, Keep the F23 IM. I'm looking to go this rought i stead of the traditional H22 just to be different and have a killer single cam N/A motor. It will all be tuned on hondata S300(already have) and keep it non-vtec. Looking for around 180-200whp.

Is there any thing in partincular that I need to do to get the F22a head on the F23 Block? Or should it be a straight forward bolt on like I'm thinking. I can get a F23 complete engine for around $150-200. But am having a hard time finding a F22a head.

Please let me know I would love to get this going and completed by the end of the winter is not sooner.

I dont know what it would take to put the F22Ax head onto the F23 block but I did notive one thing....

why would you stick with the F23 IM?

Not sure if you are aware but the F23 and F22Ax intake ports are shaped differently and would probably require more work than it's worth. I would just go with the F22A6 IM or the H23A1 IM, both are very similar but I think the H23A1 has a larger plenum.

if you go to this thread...

PirateMcFred posted a picture of a F23 and H23 head to show the difference between the port shapes. (H23 and F22Ax intake ports are the same shapes)

good luck, I'm interested in seeing this completed

Thanks for the help. I was looking at that and am now looking for an H23 IM and TB. Also the TSX pistons are 87mm and would work perfect. The compression should be around 10.6-11:1
