can someone please please pleaseeee help me. Timing issue
can anyone tell me if you need to "time" the oil pump and water pump on a civic d16? i know i need to take off the timing belt and make sure the camshaft and the crankshaft's pulleys timing lines are matched, but what about the water pump and oil pump? please help me. i really need your help if you know! thanks, dave
To start, you don't have to take the belt off.
Remove the timing belt cover, and using the crank, set the engine to TDC.
Do the cams/cam also show that the motor is TDC?
Don't worry about the water and oil pumps.

well i have to swap the oil pump out and put an obd2 oil pump in. i also just want to swap out the water pump because its got 180,000 on this engine. the new engine i hsve is an obd1. so pretty much i am doing an obd1 (engine) into an obd2 wire harness. But i definately will have to swap out the oil pump. thank you SO much for getting back to me. please let me know if the oil and pump need to be timed. thanks you SO much
