Default 22k OTD for 07 sedan Si.....

I just received a call from Livermore Honda in the Bay Area, Ca that they have a 07 white sedan si w/summer tires for 22k OTD. Do you guy think it's good deal? I'm trading in my 06 TSX for it.

Depends on the status of your TSX. Is it paid off or not? If not how much did you still owe for it? How much money are you putting down?

Are you paying cash for the car or are you financing?

TSX w/navi and 6sp tranny is paid off with 20k miles. I'm hoping to get at least $23,800 trade-in because private party is about $25k. If this deal go through, I'm walking away with $1,800 plus a new car. But if I can get the 07 si for less than 22K, it would be more money in my pocket.

22K OTD is a very good deal. But you need to be careful because when they see that your TSX is paid off....believe me.....they will try to gut you for every penny you're worth. They'll try to screw you on your trade like Ron Jeremy on Jenna Jameson.

That's how dealer's make most of their money.....on the trade in. So make sure you try to get at least $22K+ for the TSX so you can have a paid off car.

they almost always give you poor value on trade in thats how they make money when they sell the car, even if the car is brand new. I know i traded in 2 brand new cars

depends on the law in the state though because it could be the same or worse. for example in my state if you trade in a vehicle and get a new one, you ONLY pay taxes on the difference between the trade in and the new one. but if you do private party, and then go buy a new car, you have to pay taxes on the full price of the car. depending on how much it would go PP versus trade in, i think it may be easier just to trade in. unless that tax law is not in your state, i would sell PP.

$22k for the Si and the guy is looking to get $23,800 for the TSX... For some reason I dont see the dealership cutting someone a check for a trade-in worth more than what they are buying.... At best I bet they do a straight up trade.

Chances of them giving you a brand new car and paying you to take it, are slim to none. You'll be lucky to get a straight up trade. Keep the TSX FTW

X2. Although I would have to stress what was said about at least getting a straight up trade so that you won't have to pay out of pocket for the Si.

Either way if you feel you're getting screwed it won't hurt to keep the TSX anyway because either way you've still got a good car that will last you a long time.

Well shiet guys the deal fell through! Went in to see the internet salesman (Henri) with a print out of the 22k OTD price quote. Now all I have to do is negotiate my trade in. Convo went like this...

Henri - Hello. Glad you could make it. The car is wash and ready for pick up.
Me - My decision to purchase will depend on the amount I will receive for my trade in.
Henri - What do you have for trade in?
Me - 06 TSX w/navi 6 speed with 20K miles.
Henri - I will need to keys so my tech can appraise the car.

Henri, tech, and I walked outside to my car.

Henri - clean car.
tech - Yeaahh, clean car.

I just kept my mouth shut and let them examine the car. 15 minutes later and all of us went back inside.

Henri - Sit tight sir and I will be right back with the appraisal.
10 minutes later......
Henri - Sir, good news. We called three dealership and your car worth $18,500.
Me - Henri, that is not the magic number if you want this deal.
Henri - What do you think your car is worth?
Me - I want $24,500.
Henri - Let me see if I can get my manager to approve it.

Off he went......5 min later.....He comes back with a funny lookn happy grind.

Henri - Sir, I was able to get you another $1,000 on your trade-in.
Me - Henri, 19,500 is not going to work. I want 24,500. If that's not possible then I'll just leave with my TSX....in a polite tone.

Now here's come Henri manager......
Hi, Im (forgot his name). I want to make this work for you. How can we help you get into your new car? You want this amount. Can we compromise and meet in the middle? $20,900 is excellent for your car.

Me - No thanks. I rather keep my car. If that is your best offer than it's just not going to work for me.

Manager - "Sir how about this" He manipulate some numbers around on paper.
Basically increase trade-in by $400 and increase civic by $400.

By this time, I just had enough and told both of them that it was time for me leave.
So I got up and left the table.

Damn no 07 sedan si.

LMAO!!! Sorry i'm not laughing at you.....just laughing cause I forgot how much of an ***-hole salesmen are these days. And then they bring their hunky dorey manager over thinkin he can win you over!!

Mad props to you for standing your ground on the trade-in value you wanted!! Most people would have folded, but you didn't.

And even though you didn't leave with the Si you still have a magnificent car. Be patient.....if they really want your business they'll call you back with the offer you wanted. If they can get to at least $22K I would say go for it so you at least break even.

P.S........................

.......That offer does absolutely nothing for you because increasing your trade and then the cost of the car you're trading it in for by the same amount puts you right back where you started!! to the moronic manager that came up with that idea.

- to you for not taking their ****!

Not exactly a relevant video, but still funny nonetheless. Defiant little drunk that guy was.

COP: "On your stomach NOW!"

Drunk: "NOO!!"

COP: ZAAP!!

Lol. classic. Especially the part where he's zappin the guy tellin him to get on the ground when he's already stiffed-out on the ground.

Im not upset about how the deal with down just a little disappointed. In the end, it's just business. Now that I think about it, many people fall this **** everyday. Oh well, I'll just wait until December.

Sorry man, maybe it'll be better to wait tho. With the '08's out, your '07 would be old news as soon as you got it. LoL

I don't understand why would you want to sell a higher level four door 6 speed car and get another one that is sort of like in the same family. You are basically downgrading and is it worth it for you to go through all that trouble after how much you had paid for your TSX? How much did your TSX cost you total BTW? I would assuming at least 30K with navigation, if the car was new when you first purchased it.

If I were you, hell no I'm trading in the TSX for a SI. What so special about the SI that makes you want it so bad? The redline at 8K RPM? I don't see what it has that can encourage consumer like you thinking of trading in your higher end car. With the TSX, you have stand HID, leather seat with power, navigation, Acura name...and yes, there is a difference between Acura and Honda. People always say, "oh, but it is basically a honda." If that's the reason why the TSX should not worth more, then I don't see the point in car manufacture to make Infinity, Lexus, Acura....
