So I was checking out my 96 dx today and its been having a funny idle latley so Im thinking what most would, IACV. Its a 96 so it dosnt have a FITV. < This is what I understand. True right? So im looking at the throttle body and the front ( side closest to valve cover) and I see this square piece with a sensor plugged into the side with 2 hoses that go into it. It has 4 10mm bolts, one at each corner. So i took it off and its a little gate looking thing that had a bunch of crude on it so I cleaned it out real good with brake cleaner and put it back on. There was no white screw like most people talk about when they clean their IACV. So what was the object I cleaned out and where the heck is my IACV? So confuused, lol. Thanks Honda Family!!!

 

IACV for y7 and auto y8s and the y5 is on the throttle body. From the sounds of it you were cleaning it. It has 3 wires going to it.

 

Its weird though most talk about a white screw that can be screwed in? I saw nothing like that. Yeah there were wires going to the sensor on the side of the "area" not sure of the number though. Its funny I just know I cleaned something out lol. Couldnt have hurt.

 

The white "screw" is on the FITV, something you dont have.
