gsr heater core removal
its alot of work. why are u taking if off? u replacing it? the dash has to come off along with the center console. and yes u do have to drop the steering so the dash can come off easier. u gonna have to unplug alot of the wires as well.
damn...
the dash really has to come out?
theres no way around that?
its leaking right underneath the box where the valve switches over....

there is a lot of work involved it that. this may have to be done i forget but the a/c might have to be evacuated. that means remove the refergant in the system. that can be done at any shop. tell them thought don't recharge the system. when i did mine the a/c system was already distroyed. the steering colom must come down. gauge cluster must come out. glove compartment pretty much any thing attached to the dash all must come out. start with the door sill plates take those off both sides. remove both kick panels. remove arm rest and shifter boot. 2 bolts on arm rest right where ebrake release button is cover (covering bolts) 10mm x2bolts. 2 screws near back on arm rest need to come out. then you can remove arm rest. 2 screws that attach to center console to gear shifter boot. 2 screws 1 near gas pedel and other near firewall. then that can come out. take dash cross member out under steering shaft. drop steering shaft by removing covers and 2 bolts that hold shaft up in place. take gauge cluster out. remove clock a bolt hiding that holds dash in place behind clock. remove that bolt. remove hazard switch and rear defroster switch. bolts or screws hiding behind those. remove heater control cable and remove center vent assy. remove radio if you haven't already. there are 2 bolts 1 on the side of dash cover covering the bolt and the other is near the kick panel you took off. same on pass side. at this point the dash should be ready to come out. drain coolant disconect heater core lines and evap lines as well. at this point should have the dash out. there is a big black box on pass side. that is what you are after. should be 3 or 4 bolts that hold that in place remove bolts and any wiring. remove the box. with the box out there should be 1 or 2 screws and metal clips that hold the 2 boxes together. at this point should be able to remove heater core. like i said a lot of work. it was a while ago sence i did mine so please forgive me if i left something out. i may have some pics i have to find them first
