Default Dash Removal Question

I have yet to remove the dash or had a need to but recently I need to gain access to my alarm systems main cpu.

But anyways, I want to know if it's a difficult job and how long you guys think it will take to remove the dash-or if I even need too if someone may know a better way, but the problem is I'm not exactly sure where the alarm cpu is, it looks somewhere to the left buried behind the steering wheel.

I was hoping to do it tomorrow but I'm afraid it may turn into a weekend job and not just a few hour job.

if it isn't and you do have to remove the dash, assuming you have an "eg8" its really simple.

me and my dad did a crash course and it only took about 45 minutes.

i pulled the steering wheel off, but it would probably be easier to just drop the steering column, pull your lower center console i.e cigarette lighter coin pocket etc., your glove box, radio, and climate controle. the climate control is the biggest pain in the *** of the whole process. you need circus carny hands to get it out because where its connected to the dash garnish the little screws are angled and you have little room to work with.

after all those pieces you have i think 6 10mm bolts to remove. two under covers on the side by the doors, one where the lower console is located, one under where your defroster vent is, one by your hood latch, and one by your glove box.

pull the dash straight out. makes it easier to remove and install with another person helping you to slide it in and out straight.
