Default What type of Pistons?? ITR or EK9???

aight guys i have an OEM all motor build. i am running ek9 cams on my head. i had a question about the bottom. as i am starting to gather parts for the bottom end, i wanted to know which OEM honda pistons are best to use???
EK9, USDM Type R, or JDM Type R???
i think only the USDM Type R pistons will pass smog correct?
thanks guys i appreciate it!

itr or p30 pistons give you a more reasonable compression ratio for pump gas. which engine are you building?

building a b16a2...head is all done up and now i got the bottom end to work on. i am still debating if imma swap out the crank or not for something else.
is p30 the JDM B16a pistons? will that pump more power than ITR or EK9 pistons?
i pretty much the best OEM honda b series pistons

I would run JDM P30 pistons.

so the p30 pump out higher compression than Ek9 pistons?

edit:
no. lower. ctr compression is not as high in a b16 block due to the smaller stroke, unlike a 1.8

ek9 = ctr?

if so, no, the p30's are not as high as the pct's, but they provide a more useable compression ratio for low octane gas.

CTR pistons are too much of high compression. thats why i said JDM p30.. close enough. a little better then ITR compression wise i believe.. unless I'm wrong someone correct me.

if all the smog components are good (o2 sensor, catalytic converter, timing ), CTR pistons in a b16a should be able to pass smog. im not sure how much more compression those pistons will bump.

p30 pistons would probely be the best right now...bumps up the compression a little bit more then the ITR
