Default EK Civic Type R Wing

What would look the best on the civic type r wing, paint the whole wing the color of the car or do the wing base black and wing paint the same as the car?

A little contrast is better. The wing is supposed to have a black base and color matched wing.

I'm actually having difficulty finding a photo of a car with a fully painted CTR wing.

EDIT: Here is a car with a fully painted spoiler.

unless your car is black i would paint it some kind of a flat satin black, that flows so well with the body lines and looks perfect lined up on the hatch window

Haha, yeah. Any color besides black would look kind of cheap if the spoiler was fully colormatched.

that thing is real nice. To the OP, i think you should paint the base black and wing color matched.

I really agree carbon fiber is sexy. If it was an option that is the way I would have went.

I think some people might not remember what the wings they've seen in the past looked like exactly. Thus why we might have so many votes for having the entire thing painted.

Get the stock EK hatch wing and paint it normal shinning black. Or get the Spoon wing. Only these 2 wings are the answer.

black base and body color wing for me.

this will create an illusion that the wing is floating at top rear of the car.

cmon paint the base black and color match the spoiler. imo it looks ridiculous when the whole thing is painted.

Do you have a photo of it fully painted to compare in the thread?

it depends on the rest of your trim. my 97 hatchs molding, door handles, lip, ect are all the color of the car. so color matching would look best. and on my 95 coupe i have a black hood, headlights, trunk, lip, molding ect. so id go black with the rest of the car red. think about which will match your car better. and not worry about what everyone else is doing.

Well, the stock Civic Type R comes with fully painted trim, but the base of the wing is left matte black. Regardless of if your door handles on your '96-'00 hatch are painted or not, I think the base of the wing should be left matte black.
