Default Utah Type R Theft!

Anybody in here from Utah be on the lookout for sale of stolen parts! Car was stolen from driveway and found completely stripped, located in Sandy near Club 90! VIN# JH4DC2314YS001174. Car is a total loss! The armrest badge # is 15. Was stolen from Tooele. All parts were taken, Engine, Tranny, Rims, Doors, Hatch, Seats, all Faux carbon accents, everything but the frame. I guess I won't have to worry about it getting stolen anymore! Any possible info is appreciated, Thanks.

Damn another one. We are averaging like one a week. Type R's will soon be extinct - at least with a clean title.

RRRRRRRR:

I have to say I didn't realize there was a minimum # of posts I neeeded before I could submit one about a theft. I'll try to bring it up to something like 500 B.S. posts before I can post about a theft next time around! Never could understand some people, I don't post very often due to the fact that I come here read what people have to say and take it or leave it, if I feel I have something I really want to say then I will post it! People complain about people posting questions that have already been asked and to do searches, that is what I do, if I don't have a ? that needs answereing I don't ask or post!

It will end when there are no Rs on the road anymore. They will either be gone or locked away, rarely seeing the light of day.

OP:sorry about your R. What are your plans for a replacement?

It was stolen right from the driveway where I live. Not sure exactly how, but there was no broken glass or any sign of break in visable on the driveway. A neighbor heard a car alarm go off around 1:00 AM and the next door neighbors husband said the car was not in the driveway at 6:00 AM when he got home Sunday morning. Unfortunately it was quite a while before I even knew it was gone, didn't go anywhere that day or go out in front of the house to see the car. The main front window of the house is slightly blocked by the garage so it is hard to see the car from there. Car was not parked in the garage due to another car being parked in it already. A month earlier, I had thought someone had been messing with it when I was home for lunch from work (this was around 3 AM), I thought I was just being paranoid! Apparantly not! I heard the alarm go off for about 5 seconds and then go right back off, went out to check only to see nothing, checked car and door was unlocked, I did lock it before I got out of it the last time I was in it. I could never figure out how someone could mess with it to set the alarm off and then somehow shut the alarm back off. As I went to leave a few minutes later to go back to work there was a truck two houses down from me on the same side of the street that turned it's lights on and did a U turn off the curb and head in the opposite direction, I backed out of the driveway to follow him/them and they did another U turn and drove right past me, I never got a plate # and I could not tell how many people were in it. I kept a look out from then on and never saw anything out of the ordinary, then a month later and Gone. This is why I thought I was just being paranoid. All keys and keyless entry remotes are in my possesion. Unless somehow they had a device that could dissengage the alarm like the keyless, sort of like stories of people having devises that scan frequencies for garage doors to open them and steal items out of their garage. I don't know if such a thing exists for cars, but the idea crossed my mind! How they could have shut the alarm off I have no Idea? I checked the car when I got home from work that morning, it was dusty and needed a wash, so I looked over the doors real well to see if I could see any hand prints, smudges, etc. to indicate they had jimmied it and there was nothing, at this point I figured it was just in my head and the alarm I heard may have been someone elses. I'm figuring if it was the people in the truck, even if I had it in the garage they may have tried or succeeded in breaking in and getting it anyways, I'll never know now. I kind of look at it as it was just a Honda and not to worry every waking minute because some deuche bag might try and steal it, I just can't see having to worry about a car getting stolen every waking second, not that I wanted it to get stolen, but ****, it's no Ferrari. I had a good run, I was the original owner with 100,000 on the tach. The car was basically bone stock with just intake and a carbon fiber hatch lid, not the hatch just the cover that hides whats in the trunk when the hatch is closed. As of right now the Insurance company (Progressive) is telling me it should take only about another week and a half to settle, so I don't know what they are planning to give me $ wise until then. The car was found approximately 45 minutes away in Sandy Utah, near a club called Club 90, How in the hell no one could have seen or reported anything about it is beyond me, I would think someone dropping a completely stripped car would be damn obvious but I guess if it's not theirs they just don't give a ****! At this point I am figuring the only way they will get caught is if the motor is in their car and they are in an accident and the motor VIN is checked or they get nabbed for being caught for trying to steal someone elses car and the motor and tranny are found then. It would be shear luck, I figure they will never get caught, but who knows. Apparantely they wanted it a hell of alot worse then I did! The police are a joke, I was never even contacted by them when it was found, I got a notice of impound from the Utah State Tax Commision TWO days after it was already found, NICE, The cops here couldn't solve a ******* Cookie Caper! I would have thought they would have contacted me by phone when it was found, I guess not, I even left a message for the cop days before I was contacted by mail and the guy never called me back.

wow that sucks. I would call and complain to the police department. Maybe it'll help, maybe it won't, but its worth a shot. Where did you get your alarm installed at and how long ago? Let anyone use your car lately?

I swear cops think to themselves after they get theft reports that it's just 1 less Honda they have to deal with on the streets...
