Default H22 head an turbo question

Im building this motor an the disassembled the head. what was wrong with was a broke a keeper, an wore out the rockers. they said i need to upgrade the head for the more power. I see alot of people running stock with 400whp. i was only at 7psi. what gives? I dont really have the cash for new spring/retainers.

Matters your setup. If you have a set-up inefficient (log manifold, stock cams), ported head will not do too much for you.
