Default DC Headers....any good?

As above peeps, are DC headers and good? I am thinking of running a Spoon N1 and was looking into a DC header. Just looking for your opinion.

Thanks.

you'll be best of doing your own research as many will tell you do a search and we all don't know what your plans are. i'd say dc sports are good bang for the buck... among the R owners, they're a budget header. the hytech and smsp like iVteC_PoWeR
just suggested are on the extreme OTHER end. expect to pay a lot (over $500), but expect greater gains. DC sports made a 4-2-1 as well as a 4-1. if you're considering DC, a good off-the-top-of-my-head price range for the 4-2-1 for an R would probably be what... $75-150? for the 4-1... 125-200? i'd rock the dc sports if i was on a budget and found a good deal. otherwise, a step up would probably be the jdm 4-1, another budget bang-for-the buck header for anywhere between 220-380 depending on the condition and what else you get... bracket, heat shield, skid plate, o2 sensor, etc. bottom line, do a search. They have two 4-1's. One with the 2 1/2" collector, and the other with a 2 1/4". The 2 1/2 is suposed to be simalar to the JDM 4-1.

The "USDM-sized" DC header actually has a 2.0" OD collector, which is the same as stock. The design of the JDM DC header is similar to that of the Mugen 4-1.

yea dude, i think they're good, i mean if you're trying to extract more power out of your car then i say get the JDM DC header. the collector is 3 inches which i think it's sweet but you'll have to get a jdm cat as well. i think the length of the header is different.

I can't speak for the Integra versions, but my neighbor had one on his Prelude, and it cracked within a year. Based on that, I would never buy DC.

Yea I think is 2.5 too, plus the jdm itr cat is only 2.5. Even if the header is really 3", you will need a 3" high flow cat.

Good? For the money and valuewise? Sure.

Do you already have a Spoon exhaust, because that seems like an old combination.

Just order a SMSP and you won't have to buy another one in a year when you want something nicer.

I have DC headers 4-1 . i combined it with Buddyclub spec 2. and i like it.
but the only reason i bought it was because i got a crazy deal for a brand new one
price wise its not bad at all. but just go with the best one in the first place.

I have a DC headeR.

yea dude my bad, it is 2.5 collector. I've never seen a dc header crack, that prelude must've been on steroids or maybe the header was a defective one.

looks like this guy is from the other side of the pond so we might need to take that into consideration as per availability and the cost of shipping etc.

to the OP, if you're not into USDM stuff like the SMSP or real Hytech stuff or are otherwise limited to JDM only products I's suggest the Toda header. Alot depends on your plans and goals and of course your budget. There are alot of good posts here in the archives and in the FAQ sticky at the top to help you decide on a header.

Best of luck

I have them and i dislike them because they actually sit pretty low, they scratch a lot on speed bumps and things like that. Also i think the flange was setup wrong on mine so i had to have it turned to fit the cat. bad experience with DCs. id stick to the JDM headers since they fit like stock and im sure there is no real difference in power between the two.

your car is more than likely a jdm itr, if so what year is it, chances are that your standard header will be fine with just bolt ons, how much was the DC header?
