Default RS Machines itr pistons and hastings rings

i searched and found a few threads on these and they seem to be positive. however, i was wondering what you guys think about the longevity of the pistons and rings. I wanted something that is reliable like OEM that will last at least 80k of normal daily driving. What do you think?

hasting has been proven. a lot fo all motor/forced induction people use hasting. i think hasting is just as good as oem, but i do recall reading a thread way back that said hasting was better cause of the material. i cant find it, but if i do ill edit my post

like anything else, as long as you perform regular maintenance they should last you well above 80K miles..

thinking of hitting them up for a set of 84mm B20 pistons. Wondering the same thing. Had alot of problems with the last set of Nippon pistons I got. The rings were **** and caused me to start having oil consumption problems around 30K. Just pissed. So now I'm in the midst of the a rebuild with the new block and I'm super serious about the rings I use. I'm not rebuilding this engine again lol.

I have done 3 B20's including my own with these pistons. So far they have been great. No super long term mileage on them yet but not expecting any issues..

I have taken apart a stock b16a that was rebuilt with those pistons and it had a broken ringland. But that was an old set and they have supposedly been redesigned to be stronger.

I'm the owner of that motor. It had taken a lot of abuse, ie 200 mile round trips 4 to 5 times a week for a year, a little nitrous, goofing off on weekends, a blown radiator (overheated), etc. Considering all of that, they make a pretty good piston.

haha good stuff. 99.5% of the time, i plan to just drive regularly. I don't mash everywhere...gas is expensive.

Thanks for the responses. If anyone else has experience long term, POST!

i'm 100% sure that my motor is the very first motor to have ever used the RS ITR pistons in a B20...as proof, here's my dyno sheet:

motor is coming up on 2 years and still runs strong...motor has been to street races as well as sanctioned events. i drive the motor about 40-50 miles like 2-3 times a week and sometimes on the weekend. i use 91 octane and not burning oil *knocks on wood*

i'll vouch for RS Machines ITR cast pistons anyday

From what I've seen RS 84mm ITR style pistons make awesome power, pretty much the best bang for the buck 84mm piston you can get.

How's it going guys! If you feel strongly about them being ok in a 2.0L daily driver that sees some rpm on a fairly regular basis...then I'm down. Always kind of nervous with the cast pistons....
