New Ignition?
I have a friend who is planing on purchasing a theft recovery Integra.
The car already was stolen once before, and the keys for the ingition are different then the door keys. Not to mention that the car was recently stolen AGIAN so the mismatched ignition is brokem from them hot wiring it.
How does one go about getting a replacment ignition that matches the key pattern of the car? I know for keys, you can tell Acura your VIN number and they can cut a key for you car...but what about the ignition itself?

when i had a problem with the ignition in my old Escort (the stupid woman who had the car before me had a MASSIVE bunch of keys and keyrings and it ruined the ignition barrel), i took it in, gave them the car and the keys, and they just fitted a new ignition barrel that worked with my keys.
dunno how they did it, but i know its possible as they did it for me

Well, this car is going to be in a shell form. It's not driving anywhere on its own. And I rather do the work myself, if possible?
BTW, you had an Escort?
