Hows my spark plugs look? Rich or lean or Good
Engine : obd1 d15b vtec, mild build with raised compression.
Spark plug type: d16z6 NGK R - Zfr5j-11 ( CURRENTLY USING)
Recommended spark plug type ( says on timing belt cover) : d15bvtec NGK - Zfr6j-11 .
What is the difference between them?
I searched and there was alot of misinformation, some people said that white meant rich, some said lean, some said timing too advanced or pinging.
What's really going on.

to tell the condition you have to do a plug chop. you cant tell how the car is running by looking at the plugs unless the car ignition is cut at the moment you want to check to see if you have a lean or rich condition. the plugs will tell you the last condition they saw, which is probably idle which will run lean since there is no load on the motor.
I wil check my o2 sensor, maybe i am running rich, which might explain the fuel smell i get on idle or when i smash on it. When i do "smash" on the throttle i get a slight smoke on 6k+ , dad was behind me when merging into freeway and said my car smelt like slight cas and dark gray smoke.
im getting 32 mpg though.
thanks for everyones input i appreciate the help
