Default Black 91 NSX.. How to freshen up the clear coat?

ok, so i have an NSX, and the only thing that is really is bothering me about the car is the paint. Well, the paint looks fine, and looks great when the car has just been washed, but when you look up close, there are SWIRL marks up the *** everywhere. And it also seems as though the clear coat is starting to thin out? What can i do to take care of this. I was about to get the whole car repainted, but is there a better solution in just restoring the clear coat? The black paint and body is still awesome, it just doesnt have that glossy milky clear coat look anymore due to the car being 17 years old. Let me know what i can do? will rubbing compound work? or can i possibly respray clear coat? help would be much appreciated.

it sounds like buffing would fix this. if you don't know how find a good detail shop that does. it's hard to tell without pictures so just take it in and get an estimate

Sell it to me , I think a good buffing would definitly get this NSX shiny again all the time.

You can probably have someone who knows what they are doing buff it out. If not, worst case is you just color sand the old clear out and re-spray new clear coat.

good luck with your project.

isnt buffing just a temporary fix more like? But technically, i can get the car re-clearcoated right? As of right now, looks like i have to repaint the front bumper and im worried that clear coat differences are gonna show. So if i recleared the whole car, if possible, then hopefully everything will look as good as new again, right? haha thanks for the responses so far, any other info would be much appreciated

there are a lot of great detailers in the socal area that can get your paint back to like new condition.

check up on http://www.autopia.org/forum/click-brag/ to look at people's work and then pm someone that's local.

most of the time when people get a repaint, a good quality detail would have satisfied them.

i would work on your car but o/c is kind of far.
