Default Are there big differences in BOV's??

Hello,

I'm working on a fully modded B16a1 project with a Garret gt30rs turbo and I'm looking for a BOV.

Are there big differences in a BOV from HKS, Greddy or those cheap ones on ebay?
Is a BOV from HKS worth the money if you compare them with an aftermarket brand?

What type and size would you advise me?

Thank you,
Berry

I'll keep this very simple, because you're about to start a civil war here.

-Yes, different BOVs have different uses.
-Some EBAY ones work, other don't... its a crap shoot. I personally would stay away regardless

-Go to blowoffvalves.com to hear sounds. Most are not for Honda, however, and some sound a little different than others depending upon vaccum(sp?) source.

-Greddy, HKS, TiAL, SARD, work fantastic. Though Synapse is on the fence with me only because of some small issues I won't care to get into, but I'd still endorse their use.

-Just remember, there is no BEST.. there's BEST FOR YOU..

Good luck.

The only difffernces between BOV's to be concerned with: sound, performance (in terms of psi it holds), and reliability.

Virtually all of them have had people complain about one of the three differences, like this one leaks or this one breaks quickly, but you have to look at the average. Typically the quieter bov's will hold more boost, unless it was designed to be quiet anyways. A TiAl bov will sound much different on a 2jz than it will on a d16 (largely turbo/cfm related), for instance.
