How do i disassemble an engine? what i mean is once i take the valve cover off how to i begin to take the head off of the block?

Take the header and PS off, then the VC, then the timing belt and that stuff, then the cam caps/cams, then the head bolts will be underneath that. You can leave the intake manifold on, just make sure all the wires/vac hoses/fuel lines have been removed before you try to lift it off the block.

And yes get a helms, a real one!!

I took apart an engine. Nothing super complicated. Just a bunch of losening bolts. Make sure you have at least a 1/4 in drive and a good long rachet. Also, an extension would help. You need A LOT of leverage to even get the head studs to budge. And MAKE SURE YOU LABEL EVERYTHING!

you need to take certain bolts off in order and sequence. this order/sequence is listed in the helms or service manual.

The write up is in the Helms! It shows you every step you need to take! Even with pictures!

If you have a manual, why would you want to carry your computer out into the garage to read a mediocre writeup?
