yes it is a black valve cover so all i need is a custom driver side motor mount which is probably a mount from a d series honda civic 92 and up right? and i dont yet have a tranny i bought my crx as a shell so i probably have to find a good deal on a tranny still cause that integra had an auto...i probably could use the automatic ecu from the integra or do i need a different one for the manual and i can use the wiring harness from teh 89 integra in my crx right? thanks again

this is not a very cost effective swap.
no other D-series trannys will bolt up to the D16A1.
there is no mount kit for the swap, custom ones must be made...

oh for real so their is no point in doing this swap....even if the motor is cheap i get not cost effective and you cant do power up grade to huh? wellz guess i m going to reconsider it...but what is a good swap for a crx beside the ob0 b16...i mean and the expensive b18c cause i m building this car for autocrossing so i dont know what motor of honda would make this think have enough power and still keep it going around the corners could you guys give me some i deals? thanks

B18A(LS)- cheap and plentiful. requires mounts, linkage, and some wiring depending on what model crx you have.
DOHC ZC- around the same price as a B18A but doesn't require B-series mounts or linkage.
SOHC VTEC- D16Z6 or D16Y8- both are good motors, fairly inexpensive and not hard to find. requires some wiring.
hope this helps
all of these motors will give you good power for autoX

At least you're sensible about the a1...more money/time than the +10 hp is worth.

If you're building it for autocross, what class were you hoping to enter?
Most classes a crx is competitive in will prohibit an engine swap. And the classes that allow swaps are so competitive, you better have a decent budget for suspension and sticky race tires.
I showed up to my first autox with a dohc zc, mostly stock suspension and street tires. Got my a$$ handed to me in D-modified. At least now most orgs have a street mod 2 class or equivalent.

go find yourself a dohc zc...though a lot of people bag on them, you cant beat the fact that its plug and play aside from a 2 wire change, it doesnt weigh much more than a single cam, and in all honesty i think a zc is quite a peppy little guy with plenty of pull out of corners if auto-x is your goal.......

How come everyone always says the a1 will not bolt up to any other tranny. I had an d16a1 and d16a6 in my car both using the same tranny. Also I used the same mounts to mount up my a6 as my a1. OP if you do you can only utilize 2 of the 3 bolts on the drivers mount into the block. If you want all three you can easily drill a hole and tap in the mount like i did. Honestly though, the d16a1 motor sucked compared to the d16a6 "one of the best d16 blocks".
